Five 'Huji men' remanded again

A Chittagong court yesterday placed five alleged members of banned Islamist militant outfit Harkatul Jihad al Islami, Bangladesh (Huji-B), who were arrested with arms and ammunitions in Chittagong on December 8 on three-day remand each.

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) members yesterday produced Tajul Islam, Nazim Uddin, Abu Jar Gifari, Nure Alam and Iftisham Ahmed Sami in three cases.

On December 12, the court granted three-day remand for them when the Huji men claimed before the court that plainclothes people introducing themselves as law enforcers picked them up in different times in last year, said court sources.
