Fire at Chattogram Singer godown

A fire broke out at a godown of electronics appliances producer Singer in City Gate area of Chattogram city this morning.

On information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the fire after one and a half hour of its inception around 5:50am, said Jashim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters in Chattogram.

The cause of the fire could not be known, but a three-member probe committee will be formed to ascertain the cause and to estimate the extent of damage, he added.

No casualty was reported in the fire.
