Fire breaks out at two apartments

Fire gutted valuables of two apartments of a six-storey building in Halishahar Boubazar area of Chittagong city on Thursday night.

The fire originated from an electric short circuit at an apartment on the first floor around 11:00am and soon spread to the adjacent one, said Nazrul Islam of Agrabad Fire Service Control Room.

On information, firefighters rushed there and doused the blaze around 11:55am.

The damage caused by the fire was estimated at Tk 3 lakh, he said.
