Fire breaks out at shoe factory

Three workers of a shoe factory were injured in a fire in old Dhaka's Satrowza area yesterday.
Kamal Hossain, 17, and Tarek Mahmud, 20, suffered 45 percent and 20 percent burns respectively, while Hanif, 37, got hurt while getting down of the four-storey building hurriedly, said Partha Sankar Paul, resident surgeon of Dhaka Medical College Hospital's burn unit.
Around 15 workers were working at the shoe factory housed on the second floor of the building when the fire originated there around 1:40pm, said Hanif.
Fire fighters doused the fire around 3:20pm.
