Feroz Rashid slams ministers for giving reference of PM at JS

A Jatiya Party lawmaker yesterday in parliament criticised all the ministers for giving reference of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on their activities.

Kazi Feroz Rashid Chowdury, an MP from Dhaka-6 constituency, also slammed the ministers for relating the PM and her family members’ names to activities of their ministries concerned.

“It is not acceptable that you -- all the ministers get escaped from ensuring accountability by giving reference of honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” said Feroz.

“How the MPs will ensure accountability of ministers and their ministries’ activities if you mention honourable prime minister’s name in your every activity,” Feroz added.

The criticism came after State Minister for Social Welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed, during reply to lawmakers’ queries, mentioned PM and her daughter’s names several times in support of his ministry’s activities.

The state minister did not say anything about the criticism.

In his question, Feroz also said irregularities, corruption, sexual harassment are taking place at different government-run shelter homes and orphanages.

In reply, Nuruzzaman said his ministry will drive out corruption and irregularity and such harassment from the organisations under the ministry soon.
