Family, friends want Arifa’s killer to be hanged

Family and friends today demonstrated in Dhaka demanding death penalty for the killer of Arifun Nesa Arifa, a banker who was murdered by her ex-husband.

Her family and friends of Eden College today formed a human chain at Jatiya Press Club trying to press the authorities to catch the killer and tie him with the noose.

Arifun Nesa Arifa, 25, employee of a private bank in capital’s Paltan branch, was brutally hacked to death near her residence under broad daylight on March 16.

Her elder brother Al-Amin Bulbul alleged that her former husband Robin hacked her to death.

The couple had a divorce in December. Since then, Robin was threatening her. That morning, Robin waylaid her on her way to office and hacked her. Robin has been on the run since.
