The examinees, who took part in the recruitment tests of the eight state-run banks on Friday, are staging demonstration in Dhaka demanding cancellation of the written tests.

They began their demo in front of Bangladesh Bank office in the capital around 10:00am but being intercepted by police they went to the Jatiya Press Club, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.

They moved to Dhaka University campus and were continuing their demonstration, the daily reported.

According to a number of candidates, there were no seat plans at Hazrat Shah Ali Mohila College centre and in many cases four to five candidates sat on a single bench meant for two.

The authorities yesterday announced a date for retaking the recruitment tests of eight state-run banks in the capital following demonstration of candidates of two exam centres -- Government Bangla College in Mirpur-1 and Hazrat Shah Ali Mohila College -- over seat shortage and mismanagement.
