Elderly man 'killed' by neighbour

An elderly man was killed allegedly by his neighbour over a trifling matter in Khejurtek area of Ashulia, outside the capital, yesterday.

The deceased was Babul Hossen, 62, hailed from Kotualy in Dinajpur.

Following an altercation over a trifling matter, one Sayed Hossen, 60, of the area punched and kicked Babul leaving him unconscious, said Officer-in-Charge of Ashulia Police Station Mohshinul Kadir, quoting his family and locals.

Babul was rushed to Gonoshastha Kendra Hospital of Savar where doctors declared him dead, said the OC.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

Police arrested Sayed from his residence and a case was filed against him.
