EC seeks applications from new parties for registration

The Election Commission has sought applications from political parties to be registered with it.

The Commission published a public notice on Monday in this regard.

The registration process will begin on Tuesday and end on December 31, said the notice signed by acting secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat M Helal Uddin Ahmed.

The political parties willing to get the EC registration will have to submit party constitutions, election manifestos, party rules, party logos and photographs of the party flags, lists of the central executive committee members with their posts, information about bank accounts and the sources of the funds with the applications.

After scrutiny, the final list of the new parties will be published in March next.
