DU student hurt in ceiling collapse

A female student residing in Shamsunnahar Hall of the University of Dhaka was injured as a chunk of plaster fell from the ceiling on her right arm yesterday.

The victim, a second year student of Islamic Studies Department, was in the shower at that time.

She was given primary medical treatment at the University Medical Centre.

Outraged resident students alleged the hall authorities did not pay heed to repeated requests for renovation.

Supriya Shaha, provost of the hall, said, “I have talked with the injured student and the hall authorities will take care of her treatment.”
