DU special convocation on July 4

The Dhaka University authorities will organise a special convocation to honour the director of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukia Amano on July 4, said a press release.

On the convocation, DU will confer Doctor of Laws degree on Amano. He will also be the convocation speaker and will talk on “Atomic Energy for Peace and Development”.

“We decided to honor him by giving Doctor of Laws for his contribution in using nuclear energy for human welfare,” DU VC Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique told The Daily Star.

President Abdul Hamid, also chancellor of DU, will speak at the event.
