DU launches Prof Mahmood award

A new gold medal titled "Prof Dr ABM Mahmood Gold Medal" has been introduced at the history department of Dhaka University (DU).

Retired Prof Dr ABM Mahmood handed over a cheque for Tk 11 lakh to DU Treasurer Prof Dr Md Kamal Uddin to introduce the gold medal at the vice-chancellor's office yesterday.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Chairman of the Department of History Prof Dr Ahmed Abdullah Jamal and donor's family members were present, among others.

Every year, two meritorious students of DU history department securing the highest CGPA will receive the gold medal.
