Driver found murdered in Ctg

Man's body recovered in another incident

A microbus driver was found murdered with his throat slit in Patiya upazila of Chittagong yesterday.

The bloodstained body of Abdul Hakim, 45, son of late Samir Uddin from Comilla, was found near post office junction around 7:30am, said Patiya Police Station Sub-inspector Aminul Islam.

Abul was hired for a trip to Cox's Bazar on Wednesday, said Abul Kalam Bakul, president of Laldighi Microbus Association.

Police suspect that he was killed by miscreants while returning to Chittagong, said AKM Emran Bhuiyan, additional superintendent (south) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police.

In another incident, a man was found dead at his Kochua house in Patiya upazila yesterday.

Mosharraf Hossain, 65, from Patuakhali, started living in Patiya after his marriage, said police.

His in-laws claimed that Mosharraf died in a road accident in Lohagara upazila on Wednesday night.

However, Lohagara Police Station Officer-in-Charge Shah Jahan said he did not hear about any such accident.

Patiya Police Station Sub-inspector Ariful Karim Dulon said they will investigate the incident as there was a bruise on the head.

Both of the bodies were sent to Chittagong Medical College morgue for autopsies.
