Dr Faruk Aziz Khan passes away

Dr Faruk Aziz Khan, elder brother of Tawfiq Aziz Khan, former executive editor of The Daily Star, passed away yesterday at his residence in Baridhara, said a press release. He was 89.

He left behind his wife, one daughter and son to mourn his death.

He was the son of late Maulvi Abdul Aziz Khan, a public prosecutor and chairman of Pabna municipality.

Faruk Aziz began his career as a teacher of Carmichael College in Rangpur and after a long spell of public service he retired as chairman of Bangladesh Space Research and Remote Sensing Organization (SPARRSO) in 1985.
