DNCC requests 8 embassies to remove security establishments from footpaths

The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has requested eight foreign embassies to move their security establishments inside their compounds from the footpaths in diplomatic zone to help people walk easily.

On February 28, DNCC in a letter, signed by its Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mesbahul Islam, requested the ambassadors of USA, Italy, Germany, Canada, France, UK, Australia and Turkey.

As per the 2001 High Court directives, President of Gulshan Society Dr ATM Shamsul Huda in a letter on December 15, 2016, asked the DNCC mayor to remove illegal establishments from footpaths, says a press release.
