Dipan Murder: DB asked to submit probe report Oct 24

A Dhaka court yesterday for the 19th time asked the Detective Branch of police to submit on October 24 the probe report of the case filed over the killing of publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan in October 2015.

Metropolitan Magistrate Golam Nabi passed the order after Inspector Fazlur Rahman, the investigation officer, failed to submit it. Earlier on August 13, the same court asked the detectives to submit the probe report by yesterday.

Dipan, 43, publisher of Jagriti Prokashoni, was hacked to death inside his office on the second floor of Aziz Cooperative Super Market in the capital's Shahbagh on October 31, 2015.

Later, his wife Razia Rahman filed the case accusing unknown persons.

Detectives have so far arrested three members of banned Ansarullah Bangla Team -- Moinul Hasan Shamim alias Sifat alias Samir alias Imran, Abdus Samad alias Abdus Sabur and Khairul Islam. They confessed to the killing to magistrates on different dates.
