Death toll rises to 7

Two more people died of drinking rectified spirit at Charghat upazila of Rajshahi yesterday.

Of the deceased, Jahangir Hossain, 55, of Kutipara was a retired police member while Lalon Mondol, 45, of Charghat was a part time cook of Sardah Police Academy, said Nibaron Chandra Burman, officer-in-charge of Charghat Police Station.

With them, the death toll rose to seven in the last two days, the OC said.

Mentionable, five elderly people including a woman died after drinking rectified spirit at Charghat on Tuesday.
