Manik Saha's anniversary of death observed

The 13th death anniversary of veteran journalist Manik Saha, who was killed in a bomb attack on January 15, 2004 at Chhoto Mirzapur near Khulna Press Club, was observed yesterday.

The Khulna Press Club authorities and his family members placed wreaths at the monument built on the press club premises in memory of slain journalists. Later, the press club authorities arranged a discussion on his life and works.

Manik Saha was a freedom fighter and received Ekushey Padak in 2009. He worked for the Daily Sangbad, The New Age, Ekushey Television, and BBC Bangla.

Last November, a speedy tribunal in Khulna sentenced nine people to life imprisonment for killing the journalist.
