Death anniversary

Today is the 19th death anniversary of Khairul Kabir, a journalist and a banker, says a press release.

Founder editor of the daily Sangbad, Kabir was also the first lifetime member of Jatiya Press Club.

In the field of banking, Kabir was the major shareholder, vice chairman and CEO of Union Bank Ltd, formerly known as the Bank of Tripura Assam and Bengal, one of the oldest banks in India.

Kabir, who was the first chairman and managing director of Janata Bank, was a fellow of the American Bankers Association.
