CU suspends BCL, JCD men for beating boxer

The Chittagong University authorities yesterday suspended its two students for allegedly beating a national-level boxer, also student of physical education and sports science.

Salauddin Md Ujjal, joint secretary of Bangladesh Jatiyotabadi Chhatra Dal CU unit, and Nazmul Karim Nipun, vice president of Bangladesh Chhatra League CU unit, both students of computer science and engineering, were suspended, said Proctor Ali Asgar Chowdhury. On Tuesday, boxer Monayeb-ur-Rahman was beaten up over Tk 3.5 lakh demanded by the two.
