CU student held for beating fellow

Police detained two youths including a Chittagong University student yesterday for allegedly beating another student of the university.

The detainees are Md Suman, a third-year student of English and Md Jamil, an outsider.

Md Mokaddesh, officer-in-charge of CU police outpost, said the duo was detained in front of Alaol Hall while they were beating Sarwar Hossain, a masters' student of Economics, branding him as a Shibir activist.

Police rescued Sarwar. The duo said they beat Sarwar upon the direction of a CU BCL leader, said the OC.
