CU celebrates life

The “Celebrating Life” festival, jointly organised by The Daily Star and Standard Chartered Bank was held at Chittagong University (CU) campus yesterday.

As part of the programme, a photography exhibition was held on the CU Social Science faculty premises where 33 photographs from professional and amateur photographers were exhibited in the “Celebrating Life” contest.

The daylong festival was inaugurated by CU Vice-Chancellor Prof Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury.  He said youths were the country's focal strength and urged them to rejoice life since it is full of hope and celebration and engage in creative activities aiming to lead the nation forward.

The festival ended with a musical show by the country's renowned band “Chirkut”. Star Showbiz and Insight Editor Rafi Hossain delivered the welcome speech, where The Daily Star General Manager (finance and admin) Mizanur Rahman and CU Proctor Ali Asgar Chowdhury, were also present.
