CU celebrates 51st founding anniversary

Chittagong University (CU) observed its 51st founding anniversary yesterday amid enthusiasm and festivity.

To mark the day, CU authorities chalked out various colourful programmes.

The day started with placing a wreath at the mural of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Later, a procession, led by Vice Chancellor Prof Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury, was brought out on the campus where teachers, students and officials took part.

A discussion was organised afterwards participated by Pro-VC Prof Shireen Akhter, arts and humanities faculty Dean Prof Sekhandar Chowdhury, Registrar Prof Kamrul Huda and Proctor Ali Asgar Chowdhury, among others.

The university was founded in 1966. At present, it has more than 25,000 students.
