Ctg school student stabbed dead

A ninth grader of Chittagong Collegiate School was stabbed to death by a group of miscreants in the city's Jamal Khan area yesterday afternoon.

The victim was identified as Adnan Ispar, 15, son of Eng Adnan Akhtarul Azam of Shahnagar area in Fatikchhari upazila, said Assistant Sub-inspector Alauddin Talukdar of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost.

The boy was a resident of Jamal Khan area and was involved in the politics of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) at the school.

The incident took place in front of Chittagong Ideal School and College around 2:45pm.

Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station Jasim Uddin told The Daily Star, “A group of miscreants stabbed the boy in front of Chittagong Ideal School and College under Chawkbazar Police Station. The boy ran for his life and collapsed in front of Dr Khastogir Government Girls' High School in Jamal Khan area under Kotwali Police Station.”

“A teacher of Ideal School and two students of Shah Wali Ullah Institute rushed the critically injured boy to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead,” he added.

Adnan's Facebook profile had several political posts.

Assistant Commissioner Jahangir Alam of Kotwali Circle said, “Feud among friends might have led to the killing. We are investigating the incident and will collect CCTV footage of the area to trace the killers.”

The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College morgue for an autopsy, he added.
