Ctg mob kills 'robber'

A mob beat a charge-sheeted accused in a robbery case to death at Raozan upazila in Chittagong early yesterday, said police.

Md Hashem, 42, of Raozan Municipalitym was preparing to commit robbery along with his cohorts when residents of Yasin Nagar village managed to catch him.

Hashem was declared dead at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, said police who recovered a locally made gun and four machetes from the spot.

Meanwhile, a village police member of Chittagong's Kadurkhil union was found dead in a pond yesterday.

Abul Kashem, 58, of Boalkhali upazila's Kadurkhil village, set out for work on Wednesday morning and did not return, said police.
