Ctg BCL leader shot by miscreant

A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) was shot by a miscreant in Chittagong city's Bakalia early yesterday 

Enamul Haque Manik, 27, general secretary of Bakalia's ward-18 unit, received bullet in the right side of his chest and was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), said Abdul Hamid, nayek of CMCH police outpost.

Quoting Manik, his friends claimed that local goon Ramjan, 40, shot him when he was returning home. 

BCL Chittagong City unit's General Secretary Nurul Azim Rony said Manik was involved with different campaigns, including anti-drug campaign and that against extra school admission fees in Bakalia. 

A vested quarter might have planned the attack in revenge, Rony added.

Bakalia police said they were investigating the matter.
