Cousins’ hanging bodies found in Gazipur

Bodies of two cousins were found hanging at a house in Joydebpur area of Gazipur city last night.

They are Jahidul Islam, 18, son of Abdul Jalil, and his cousin Md Babu, 17, reports our Gazipur correspondent.

Babu used to stay at the house of his maternal uncle Abdul Jalil, said Enamul Haque, a sub-inspector of Joydebpur Police Station.

Around 5:30pm yesterday, Babu and Jahidul went to their room and locked the door from inside, the SI said.

Getting no response even after one hour, Jahidul’s family members broke open the door and found their bodies hanging from the ceiling.

On information, police recovered their bodies and sent those to Gazipur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Reason behind their deaths could not be known immediately, SI Enamul said.

Quoting family members, Police said Jahidul and Babu were drug addicts and they might commit suicide.
