A Dhaka court today ordered law enforcers to submit a probe report by March 27 on the murder case of blogger and writer Avijit Roy.

Metropolitan Magistrate Md Khurshid Alam passed the order after Md Fazlur Rahman, a sub-inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime, failed to produce a report today.

Seven accused, who are now in jail, were arrested in connection with the case.

Avijit, son of noted physicist Ajoy Roy and founder of Mukto-Mona blog, was hacked to death in Dhaka University area on February 26, 2015. His wife Rafida Afrin Banya was injured in the attack.

The expatriate couple living in the US came home a few days before the killing as Avijit's two books were published on the occasion of the Ekushey Book Fair.
