Couple among six dead in road crashes

Six people were killed and four others injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday.

Our Natore correspondent reports, three people, including a couple, were killed and four others injured when an earth-laden tractor and an auto-rickshaw collided head-on on Natore-Bogra highway in Dalsarok area of Natore Sadar upazila, said police.

The deceased are Mohammad Sharif, 28, his wife Reshma Begum, 20, and Tofazzal Hossain, 55.

They were the passengers of the auto-rickshaw.

The injured were rushed to Rajshahi Medical Collage Hospital.

Our Dinajpur correspondent reports, motorcyclist Masud Rana, 35, son of Babul Mia, died on the spot when a lorry hit him on Dinajpur-Bogra highway in Khetabmore of Ghoraghat upazila, said police.

Meanwhile, easy bike driver Shahinul Islam Shahin, 17, son of Abdur Razzak, was killed when a truck hit his vehicle in Dhukurjhari village in Biral upazila.

Our Pirojpur correspondent adds, a union parishad member died as his motorbike was hit by a three-wheeler on Bhandaria-Rajapur road at Poykhali Bazar in Bhandaria upazila.

Mijanur Rahman, 39, was a member of Ward No-5 of Gouripur Union Parishad.
