Cop dies in fall in barracks

A police constable died after falling from the top floor of a six-storey dormitory of Public Order Management Division of police in the capital's Mirpur police barracks yesterday, said police.

Shariful Islam, 20, of Mymensingh, fell from a balcony around 8:30am, said Sub-inspector Bacchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police outpost. Police, however,  could not immediately ascertain whether he jumped intentionally, or was pushed by someone, or it was an accident.
