Conference on learning and teaching held at IUB

An international conference on “New Dimensions in Learning and Teaching” was held at Independent University, Bangladesh in the capital's Bashundhara yesterday.

The Center for Pedagogy and the School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences of IUB jointly organised the daylong event, says a press release.

Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, energy affairs adviser to the prime minister, attended the inaugural ceremony as chief guest.

In his speech, he emphasised ethical elements of education.

Prof Suhaimi Abdul Talib of Faculty of Civil Engineering, UiTM, Malaysia, was the keynote speaker.

He presented a paper on “Responding to the Fourth Industrial Revolution through Outcomes-Based Education”.

Matin Chowdhury, chairman, board of trustees, IUB, was present as a special guest. VC Prof M Omar Rahman chaired the session. Dr Mahbub Alam, dean of School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at IUB, delivered the welcome speech.
