A college boy, who went missing two days ago after storming out of his house in rage, was found dead in Dhanmondi Lake this morning.

The deceased was identified as Sudipto Dutta, a HSC candidate of Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Rifles Public School and College in Dhaka.

After autopsy, doctors at Dhaka Medical College confirmed that Sudipto died of drowning. There was no injury mark on his body, the physicians said after receiving the post mortem report.

Earlier around 6:30am, locals found the body floating on the lake. Police, on information, recovered the body, said Noor-e-Azam, officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station.

Sudipto’s mother Chhanda Dutta had lodged a general diary with Hazaribagh Police Station for her missing son, he said. “The boy went out two days ago after a quarrel with the mother.”

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations will begin throughout the country from April 3.
