Natore priest goes missing

The assistant parish priest of Jonail Catholic Church in Baraigram upazila has been missing since Monday afternoon.

Officer-in-Charge Shahriar Khan of Baraigram Police Station said Father Walter William Rozario, 40, went missing after he had left his Bonpara home for the Jonail Catholic Church around 4:00pm on Monday.

Father Walter is also the headteacher of Saint Louis High School in the upazila. He is the son of Sylvester Rozario of Bonpara municipality area. He is also a neighbour of slain Christian Trader Sunil Gomez.

Porimal Rozario, brother of the missing priest, said another priest of the church, Father Subrata Purification, informed him of his brother's disappearance.

Father Subrata filed a general diary (GD) in this regard with the local police station yesterday afternoon.

When contacted, Biplob Bijoy Talukder, superintendent of police in Natore, said they learnt about his disappearance yesterday afternoon and they were working on gathering information.
