Child hurt in gas cylinder explosion in Old Dhaka dies in DMCH

A child, who sustained burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in Old Dhaka's Shakharibazar on August 20, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) yesterday morning.

The one-and-half-year-old Ria Akhtar received 25 percent burns while her mother Lipi Akhtar, 24, 28 percent when a cylinder exploded in a room on the ground floor of a five-storey building while they were taking rest on the staircase.

Police said the woman was a beggar in the area.
