Bullet-hit youth dies at CMCH

A youth, who was shot for refusing to pay extortion money in Jungle Latifpur area of Chittagong city early Sudnay, died on Tuesday night.

Md Mizan, 23, of Noakhali, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

Mizan was building a boundary wall around his land in the area. When he was supervising the work early Sunday, some extortionists shot him as he refused to pay them Tk 10 lakh as toll, said police.

Police arrested three accused -- Md Hannan, Md Milan, and Omar Faruk -- with a light gun, four machetes, three cleavers and a Chinese axe.

A case was filed on Sunday.
