Boy dies in road accident on way to school

A schoolboy was killed as a battery-run auto-rickshaw hit him while he was on the way to school in Tiakhali area of Kalapara upazila yesterday.

Sumon Hawlader, 11, son of Sahid Hawlader of Badurtali village in Kalapara, was a fifth-grader of Tiakhali Government Primary School, said Md Alauddin, officer-in-charge of Kalapara Police Station.

The vehicle hit him from behind while he was going to school on foot, he said.

Locals took him to Kalapra Upazila Health Complex where he was declared dead.
