Bodies of two youths found in Turag river

The bodies of two youths, who drowned while taking a bath in the Turag River in Birulia area of Savar on Tuesday, were recovered yesterday.

The deceased were Mizanur Rahman, 28, and Minhaz, 17, of Kashimpur in Gazipur city. They came to Birulia with their friends to attend a picnic, said locals.

A team of police and divers from Fire Service and Civil Defence carried out a rescue operation on Tuesday after the youths drowned. However, divers postponed searching as they could not trace the duo till 8:00pm, said SM Kamruzzaman officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station.

They resumed their rescue operation yesterday morning and recovered the bodies, the OC said.
