Bodies of 2 children recovered in Dhaka

Police recovered bodies of two children from different areas in Sabujbagh area of Dhaka this morning.

The deceased were identified as Shamim, 12 and Irthy, 5.

Police recovered Shamim’s body from a canal and Irthy’s body from a septic tank in Sabujbagh area, said Abdul Kuddus Fakir, officer-in-charge of Sabujbagh Police Station.

The canal from where Shamim’s body was recovered is two kilometers away from the place where Irthy was recovered, police said.

Both the victims were missing since last evening, OC Abdul Kuddus said.

Police primarily suspected that the two children accidentally fell into the septic tank and the canal while playing.

The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
