Bodi claims innocence

Court fixes July 20 for hearing arguments

Awami League's Cox's Bazar-4 constituency lawmaker Abdur Rahman Bodi yesterday claimed himself “innocent” after a Dhaka court read out the charges brought against him by 22 prosecution witnesses in a corruption case.

Judge Abu Ahmed Jomadar of the Special Judge Court-3 fixed July 20 for hearing the arguments from both the prosecution and defence.

In a written statement, Bodi, now on bail, told the court that the charges brought against him are baseless and concocted.

On August 21, 2014, the ACC filed the case on charges of amassing illegal wealth and concealing information in his wealth statement.
