BIWTC Eid spl services start today

Additional four steamers introduced by Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) will carry passengers from Dhaka from today to September 19 marking Eid-ul-Azha to be celebrated on September 13.

With the additional ones, five vessels -- PS Ostrich, PS Lepcha, PS Turn, MV Madhumoti, MV Bangalee -- will ply from Dhaka to Morelganj of Bagerhaat via Chandpur, Barisal, Jhalakathi, and Hularhut of Pirojpur, said Azmal Hossain, deputy general manager (commercial/ passenger) of BIWTC, Barisal. The fare will remain unchanged, he said.

Moreover, some sea trucks have been introduced on different coastal routes, including Hatiya-Sandwip-Laxmipur, Chittagong-Noakhali-Bhola, and Chittagong-Sandwip-Hatiya.
