Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad's martyrdom anniversary observed

Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Sheikh Trust and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Jessore region observed the 46th martyrdom anniversary of Bir Shrestha Nur Mohammad Sheikh in Sharsha upazila of Jessore yesterday. 

The programmes started with placing of wreaths at the grave of the freedom fighter at Kashipur village of the upazila. 

A Qurankhwani, milad mahfil and discussion were also held.

Nur Mohammad was born on February 26, 1936 at Mahiskhola village in Narail Sadar upazila. 

He joined the then East Pakistan Rifles (EPR), now BGB, on February 26, 1959. The Pakistani army killed him on September 5, 1971 at Goalhati, Jessore.
