Biman passenger, guard held with gold at Dhaka airport

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate officials yesterday detained a Biman Bangladesh Airlines employee and a passenger with four gold bars weighing 732 grams at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

They are Mohammad Jakaria, a security guard of Biman; and Masud Rana, a passenger of a Biman flight arriving from Riyadh.

Moinul Khan, director general of CIID, told The Daily Star that they watched Masud on the CCTV camera while he was going to the security guard after getting off the aircraft.

Later, they found the gold bars in Jakaria's pockets.
