Big reshuffle in civil admin
The government yesterday transferred as many as 50 public servants ranging from secretary to senior staff nurse with new tasks.
Several armed forces and Rab officials have also been transferred on deputation. The Ministry of Public Administration issued several gazette notifications to these effects.
Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah, secretary to the housing and public works ministry, has been made agriculture secretary.
Several additional, joint and deputy secretaries have been given new tasks.
Air-Vice Marshal of Bangladesh Air Force Mahmud Hossain has been transferred to the ministry of foreign affairs on deputation for appointing him ambassador to any Bangladesh mission abroad.
Additional Chief Engineer of the Padma Bridge Project Md Maqbool Hossain, a BCS railway engineer who was on deputation to the project, has been sent back to the railway ministry from the bridge project.
National Mass Media Institute's Director General AKM Shamim Chowdhury has been transferred to the information ministry for appointing him as the chief information officer.

Chief Executive Officer of Sylhet District Parishad Parimal Singha has been made deputy commissioner of Meherpur of which incumbent DC Md Shafiqul Islam deputy secretary to the water resources ministry.
Director of PMO Md Azimuddin Biswas will replace DC of Kishoreganj GSM Zafrullah who will join the fisheries and livestock ministry as its deputy secretary. Deputy Secretary of Civil Aviation Ministry Muhammad Maqsudur Rahman has been made councillor [hajj] to the Bangladesh Hajj office in Mecca.
The list of transfer includes several joint secretary ranked officials and senior staff nurse of government employee's hospital. Banasree Baidya, who was the senior staff nurse of the hospital, has been sent back to the health and family welfare ministry.
