BCL leader hacked in Mymensingh

Unidentified miscreants hacked Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) secretary of Phulbaria upazila unit yesterday evening.

The victim was Sarwar Hossain, 27, son of Abdur Rashid of village Bhalukjan.

Quoting locals, Rifat Khan Rajib, officer-in-charge of Phulbaria Police Station, said a group of five to six miscreants hacked Sarwar indiscriminately at upazila headquarters around 6:00pm, leaving him critically injured.

The miscreants fled immediately, he said.

Sarwar was shifted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, the OC said, adding, no case was filed yet and an investigation is underway.
