Earlier last night, a group of BCL men went on rampage at Bijoy Ekattor Hall trying to give space to their supporters forcefully.

They chased away resident teachers, vandalised the office room of the hall provost, beat up a campus reporter and terrorised general students for hours overnight on Tuesday.

The rampage was led by Bijoy Ekattor Hall Chhatra League President Fakir Rasel and Secretary Nayan Hawlader, a resident teacher told The Daily Star on condition of anonymity.

The hall’s Provost Shafiul Alam Bhuiyan told The Daily Star that the Chhatra League activists vandalised his office room in front of him when he tried to calm down the situation.
