BAU celebrates anniversary

Marking its 57th founding day, Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) held a series of programmes including a colourful procession on the campus yesterday.

Students, teachers, and employees joined the march, led by Vice Chancellor Prof Md Ali Akbar. Earlier, the VC inaugurated the programmes by hoisting the national flag and university flag. Trees were also planted on the occasion.

BAU started its journey in 1961.

Sprawling over 1,250 acres, the university has around 6,000 students and 575 teachers, said Additional Registrar (Academic) Md Sarwar Jahan.

There are 43 departments under six faculties, one research centre, and three post-graduate institutes, he added.
