Barisal land office staff held with bribe

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday arrested a staff of Ujirpur upazila land office in Barisal red-handed with bribe.

Faruque Hossain, a bench clerk, earlier took Tk 30,000 from one Nazem Ali Howlader for preparing his land related document, said Md Sifat Uddin, deputy director of ACC Barisal office.

Being informed by Nazem, ACC officials yesterday held Faruque while he was taking Tk 10,000 more as bribe from the complainant, he added.

The ACC official lodged a case with Ujirpur Police Station.
