Madrasa student’s throat-slit body found in Dhaka

Police recovered the throat-slit body of a madrasa student from the institution in Gulistan area of Dhaka early today.

Deceased Abdur Rahman Jidan, 11, son of Hafez Uddin of Gafurgaon upazila in Mymensingh district was the student of Madinatul Ulum Hafezia Madrasa located in Gulistan, Rezaul Alam, a sub-inspector of Paltan Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Following the trail of blood on the floor, the teachers and students found Jidan with his throat slit around 3:00am.

On information, a police team rescued Jidan and took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared him dead around 4.00am, said the SI.

Reason behind the murder could not be known immediately, he added.      

They took some students of the madrasa to the police station for interrogation, added the police official
