HC forms bodies to probe SSC question paper leak

The High Court today formed two separate committees --  one judicial and another administrative -- to find out those involved in SSC question paper leak and to determine the strategy to prevent question leak.

The judicial committee will be headed by the Dhaka district and sessions judge while the other committee will be led by BUET professor Mohammad Kaykobad.

The court formed the committees after hearing a writ petition filed by four Supreme Court lawyers challenging the legality of the government failure to prevent the question paper leak.

Both the committees will start their work in seven days after receiving the High Court order and they will submit their report to the High Court in 30 days after they start their functions.

The judicial committee will find out how the question papers were leaked and who are involved in the leakage of question paper and will determine what steps would be taken against them.

The administrative committee will find out how the question paper leak can be stopped.

The HC also issued a rule asking the authorities concerned of the government to explain in two weeks why their inaction to stop SSC question paper leak should not be declared illegal.

The SC lawyers submitted the writ petition to the High Court yesterday seeking its order on the government to cancel the ongoing Secondary School Certificate examinations due to the question paper leak.

The petition also sought the HC’s order to formulate a judicial committee to find out the people who are behind the question paper leak and to enact a law to stop the question paper leak.
