'Bangabandhu Chair' to be inaugurated in Thailand today

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali arrived in Bangkok yesterday to inaugurate the “Bangabandhu Chair”, a PhD level doctoral fellowship for research on 'Sustainable and Integrated Smart Energy Modelling' in the context of Bangladesh and developing countries.

The minister will today inaugurate this along with his Thai counterpart Don Pramudwinai, at a ceremony held at the premier technology institute of Bangkok in Thailand.

After the inauguration, AH Mahmood Ali will hold bilateral talks with his Thai counterpart at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

The Foreign Minister will call on the Prime Minister of Thailand General Prayut Chan-o-cha and attend the “Bangabandhu Lecture” at the AIT.

At this occasion Foreign Minister will unveil the historic 7th March speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman translated in Thai Language.

Later, an agreement on exemption of visa for diplomatic passports holders will also be signed between the countries on this occasion.
